ANNA BARBARA HANTZ

anna-hantzAnna Barbara Hantz has been an attorney with Gottesman & Hollis for more than 10 years. During that time, she has litigated a number of cases ranging from land use and zoning to construction defect and insurance coverage disputes. Hantz is especially known for her work on the landmark case of Simplex v. Town of Newington, which established a new standard for variance review in New Hampshire zoning law. Similarly, along with colleague attorney David Gottesman, she received the New Hampshire Trial Lawyers 2003 Special Recognition Award for her work in setting privacy standards for Internet information brokers in Remsburg v. Docusearch, Inc.

In addition to litigation, Hantz also offers private mediation services and is involved in Rule 170 mediation, a court-sponsored program in which lawyers volunteer to mediate cases for others. Mediation helps the parties maintain control of their dispute and its resolution, and provides a quicker result than lengthy, expensive and often unpredictable trials.

Hantz is also very active in the community and federal and state governments. She is a volunteer for the Domestic Violence Emergency (DOVE) Project, which provides free legal representation at final hearings for domestic violence protective orders. She is a past president and current board member of the Nashua Children's Home, an organization that she has been involved in for the last 14 years. She previously served as executive director of the New Hampshire Republican State Committee and she was a delegate to the1988 Republican National Convention.
